About The Role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager you will be responsible to provide diagnostic and fault finding expertise for all Electrical work including advice to technicians where required. Ensures operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting in workshop or at site by following training materials, diagrams, sketches, operation/maintenance/service manuals & trouble-shooting guidelines for quality jobs for customer satisfaction.
- Carry on installation & commissioning of machines at site after proper PDI. Educate the customer on routine maintenance and basic problem solving techniques.
- Carrying out PDI checks, routine maintenance, overhauling and trouble-shooting DIESEL ENGINES (with turbos) of various equipment’s as per manufacturer’s recommendations up to 12 cylinders.
- Stripping, fitting & replacing components of equipment’s appropriately as required.
- Should have basic electrical knowledge for electrical fault repairs and handling. Should have idea on reading schematic diagrams, installation of control modules and its programming & record current readings.
- Recording photographs of all equipment s.nos. Hour meters along with faulty components for fault analysis, reports and warranty related jobs.
- Storage of faulty components in packet with tags for customer handover or in the warranty section if job under warranty for principal’s inspection and testing.
- Identify required part nos. using spare-parts catalogues and handing over to supervisor for order confirmation.
- Timely updation of TIME SHEETS on daily basis for individual productivity monitoring.
- Prepares report (or FSR) by collecting, analyzing and summarizing various complaints, diagnosis & repair observation with all parameter readings and report to supervisor for information and for customer’s acknowledgement.
- Should be accountable for all maintenance and repair jobs carried out at workshop and on-site.
- Ensuring proper storage, handling & maintenance of service vehicle, tools or any other company property.
- Timely update on WIP for on-site repairs to supervisor over telephone or fax for information and assistance.
- Ensuring on-time completion of work as committed to customer.
- Spreading good name about company products to customers for building customer confidence.
- Ensuring proper washing, cleaning & storage of customer machinery at all times.
- Maintains, safe and clean working environment by complying with safety standards, rules and regulations.
- Fault tracing and diagnosis of Volvo products
- Apply knowledge and experience to interpret symptoms of “under performance” or failure of components
- Follow directives provided in Workshop Manuals
- Follow repair and maintenance instructions and specifications provided in Manual and Service Literature.
- Carry out work allocated i.e. job cards according to Volvo standard and specifications
