supervise and monitor day –to-day fleet operations.
- Supervise transport operators, drivers, staff and contracted services as required.
- Supervise workloads, schedule, tasks and other related functions.
- Handle loading and unloading operations.
- Review and recommend the repair and replacement of trucks and fleet vehicles
- Ensure maintenance of vehicles in good running condition.
- Ensure compliance of safety standards in transportation functions.
- Supervise contractors who may be engaged to perform service work for the department
- Prepare reports as required by the Management
- Develop and maintain a positive working rapport with the transport operators, staff and the management
- Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Management , oversees driver pre-trip inspections and guarantees that vehicles are ready for service.
Works in conjunction with Maintenance Department to determine which vehicles are out of service and which vehicles are pulled from the “ready line” because of mechanical defects;
