Required qualifications, experience, and skills as follows:
- Check operations work schedule and ensure that the assigned resources – gangs, Labor & equipment’s are available for the operations
- Collect documents from the Cargo control team – Stuffing, unstuffing log, delivery order, bill of entry, export declaration and distribute these to respective tally clerks
- Monitor the work of the Tally clerk and ensure that all the required information is captured in the system
- In the case of flat track, open top containers, and unconventional cargo, determine the type of equipment which will be used during operations. Inform the Cargo Control & the Helpdesk team and ensure that equipment requirement is forwarded to the supplier
- Ascertain the weight, configuration of cargo and type of equipment for stuffing and unstuffing purposes
- Monitor the stuffing operations and ensure that only sound & clean containers are used for Operations
- Post completion of the stuffing, supervise the lashing operations carried by the laborers
- Monitor the truck loading operations whenever necessary
- Physically supervise operations for exceptional cases like leakage – Terminal personnel inform Health & Safety. Health & Safety coordinates with the agent or the customer. The container is shifted to the leakage area under the supervision of the operations supervisor. If the leakage is found to be insignificant, then only sawdust and sand can be used
- In case of fire catching cargo – e.g.: lighters, ensure that operations are managed under the supervision of Fire Fighting personnel.
