Job Purpose
Plan, design, and supervise agricultural and landscape projects to ensure healthy plant growth, efficient irrigation, sustainable land use, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environments. The role ensures that all agricultural and landscaping operations meet technical standards, environmental requirements, and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Landscape Design & Planning
- Develop landscape designs for farms, gardens, parks, and commercial outdoor spaces.
- Prepare technical drawings, planting plans, and layout designs.
- Select suitable plant species based on climate, soil type, and project requirements.
- Ensure designs meet environmental sustainability standards.
2. Agricultural & Horticultural Management
- Oversee planting, fertilization, pruning, pest control, and soil improvement activities.
- Conduct soil analysis and recommend appropriate amendments.
- Monitor plant health and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Develop seasonal agricultural plans and crop rotation schedules.
3. Irrigation & Water Management
- Design and supervise installation of irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, automated).
- Monitor water usage and ensure efficient water distribution.
- Troubleshoot irrigation issues and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with water conservation standards.
4. Project Supervision & Site Management
- Supervise landscaping teams, contractors, and field workers.
- Ensure all work is completed according to design specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports.
- Coordinate with procurement to source plants, materials, and equipment.
5. Environmental & Sustainability Compliance
- Implement environmentally friendly practices in landscaping and agriculture.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations related to land use, pesticides, and water management.
- Promote biodiversity and soil conservation practices.
6. Technical Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of plant inventories, irrigation plans, and soil test results.
- Provide management with regular updates on project status and challenges.
