The Supply Chain Director provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the organization's end-to-end supply chain function, ensuring the efficient planning, sourcing, procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, contract governance, and supplier performance across all business units and campuses.
The role is responsible for developing long-term supply chain strategies that support organizational growth, operational excellence, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance. The Director serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, driving digital transformation, cost optimization, enterprise risk management, and continuous improvement while ensuring uninterrupted supply of medical, and operational resources.
1.Executive Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the organization's long-term Supply Chain Strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Serve as the executive leader responsible for all supply chain operations across the organization.
- Advise executive leadership on supply chain risks, opportunities, investments, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead organizational transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Establish governance frameworks, policies, and strategic performance objectives.
2.Supply Chain Governance
- Establish enterprise-wide procurement and supply chain governance standards.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with organizational policies, Saudi regulations, and international best practices.
- Chair or participate in major procurement and tender committees.
- Approve strategic procurement decisions and high-value contracts.
- Ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical procurement practices.
3. Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management
- Develop strategic sourcing initiatives for critical goods and services.
- Build long-term partnerships with local and international suppliers.
- Lead negotiations for major contracts, framework agreements, and strategic partnerships.
- Oversee supplier segmentation, vendor performance management, and supplier development programs.
- Ensure supplier continuity and business resilience.
4. Financial Planning & Cost Optimization
- Develop the annual Supply Chain budget and long-term capital procurement plans.
- Drive enterprise-wide cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality.
- Identify opportunities for operational savings, process automation, and procurement efficiencies.
- Monitor procurement spend, inventory investment, and logistics costs.
- Present financial performance and savings initiatives to executive management.
5. Supply Chain Operations Oversight
Provide executive oversight of:
- Procurement Operations
- Warehousing
- Inventory Management
- Logistics & Distribution
- Asset Movement
- Import & Export Operations
- Medical Equipment Procurement
- Pharmaceutical Procurement
- Operational Supplies
Ensure operational excellence across all business units.
6.Risk Management & Business Continuity
- Develop enterprise supply chain risk management strategies.
- Ensure contingency planning for supply disruptions.
- Oversee supplier risk assessments.
- Lead crisis response relating to supply shortages and operational interruptions.
- Ensure business continuity through strategic sourcing and inventory planning.
7. Digital Transformation & Process Improvement
- Lead digital transformation initiatives across the Supply Chain function.
- Drive ERP optimization and automation of procurement and warehouse operations.
- Introduce data analytics, dashboards, AI-enabled forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Benchmark organizational practices against leading healthcare and higher education institutions.
8. Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead and develop high-performing supply chain leadership teams.
- Build succession plans for critical positions.
- Establish performance management objectives for departmental managers.
- Promote innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence and customer service.
9. Executive Reporting
- Present supply chain performance to Executive Management and Board Committees when required.
- Prepare strategic reports, business cases, investment proposals, and operational performance dashboards.
- Recommend organizational improvements based on market intelligence and operational analytics.
10. Other Duties
Represent the organization in executive meetings, supplier negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
Maintain confidentiality of all organizational information.
Perform other executive responsibilities assigned by the CEO.
