• Leads all clinical learning lab and simulated patient care learning experiences with appropriate resources to successfully complete learning opportunities in simulated patient care environment. May train, guide, and delegate assignments to less experienced simulation staff as needed.
• Discusses goals and objectives with faculty and provides recommendations regarding design, implementation and evaluation of simulation activities, course outcomes, and curricular benchmarks. Collaborate with physicians, faculty educators and other stakeholders on the development and delivery of simulation activities to integrate equipment into the learning strategies and assessment processes.
• Develop, program, test, and execute training scenarios relevant to emergency codes, CPR, BLS, ACLS, sentinel events, resident orientation, surgical and medical skills, triage and team training and other EMS and in-hospital training needs. Assures facility and equipment are set up and operational for medical teaching sessions. Teach and instruct faculty, staff and students on the use of simulation.
• Maintain proficiency in existing and emerging technologies, and participate in technology training and attend conferences to stay current with simulation technology.
• Leads reviews of equipment, install software and hardware upgrades, interface with equipment manufacturers, and support use of digital media and web stream creation for educational distribution. Create innovative ideas, evaluate new equipment, and identify opportunities for technology improvement and integration into healthcare education.
• Supports faculty and colleges leadership with initiatives involving clinical simulation research and effective teaching strategies in a simulated patient care environment. May assist in research design and analysis of results.
• Leads the development and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures and policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
