Role Purpose:
Occupational nurse is present on site and he gives treatment to whatever problem the employee might face. He also has access to over-the-counter medicines, and uses them if a person requires medication. If there are injuries, the nurse gives first aid to the victims. These duties form the core of the occupational health nurse job description.
Duties Performed:
* Occupation health nurse has to provide nursing care to employees in their workplace in case they take ill
* He gives medicines and first aid care to the employees and if their condition worsens, He calls for an ambulance so they can be admitted to a hospital
* His opinion is taken in case a patient requires medical leave
* He assesses the condition of the patient and determine the amount of leave the patient should be given.
* Occupational health nurse assesses the safety standard in the company and see if any work conditions for the employees are hazardous
* He makes the company implement better safety standards for the employees
* He provides safety lessons in the workplace for all employees .
* He also has to maintain the inventory of the medicines and other medical equipment required in their infirmary
* Occupation nurse has to make reports for the management on the all the employees that were given treatment
