POSITION SUMMARY
- Supporting Production Manager in everyday operations.
- To provide in-house expertise on twin-screw compounding processes.
- To maintain and improve manufacturing procedures to agreed targets and safeguard product quality.
- To manage the labor force and ensure a safe working environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Production Manager, implement the day-to-day production operations, and maintain efficiency and productivity.
- To take full responsibility of the shift in terms of management of staff, management of production and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of the production processes.
- To take full responsibility of the quality and product that is produced within the shift in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures.
- Monitor measure and report on production related process performance.
- To ensure good communication is given either verbally or in write to all members of staff.
- Problem solving and troubling shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand.
- To work closely with other Shift Leaders to ensure production handovers are effective communication tool.
- Managing cost within the shift by controlling overtime and by identifying other unnecessary cost efficiencies.
- Support the improvement process by recommending more efficient technologies and processes.
- Organizes and lead regular shift meetings. Discusses production indicators and quality performance, instructs in corrective actions.
- Responsible for employee training, discipline and maintains absence management. Coordinates personnel and vacation planning within their shift.
- Performs staff appraisals and development.
- Follow the company’s manuals, procedures and regulations.
- Supports the positive public image of the company during customer visits and audits.
- Responsible for compliance with safety regulations and housekeeping. Initiates EHS improvements, corrective actions and prevention.
