Role purpose:
The jobholder is responsible for learning and professional development of an organization’s workforce. He equips staff with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out work-related tasks. Training Manager either delivers the training by himself or arrange for a third party trainer to do it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying training and development needs within an organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and human resources department.
- Designing and expanding training and development programs based on the needs of the organization and the individual.
- To produce programs that are satisfactory to all relevant parties in an organization, such as line managers and senior managers at board level.
- Considering the costs of planned programs and keeping within budgets as assessing the return on investment of any training or development program is becoming increasingly important.
- Developing effective induction programs.
- Devising individual learning plans.
- Producing training materials for in-house courses.
- Managing the delivery of training and development programs and, in a more senior role, devising a training strategy for the organization.
- Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with managers.
- Ensuring that statutory training requirements are met.
- Amending and revising programs as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment.
- Helping line managers and trainers solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
- Keeping up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses.
- Having an understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages.
- Researching new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning and presenting that research.
- Main focus to develop in-house training vs. sourcing it to outside parties and reducing the cost.

- Training cost - company training expenditure
- Training certificates - No: of employees completing sponsored programs
- Training courses - Number of courses offered vs implemented.
- Training satisfaction - Employee satisfaction with training.
- Training budget - % of HR budget spent on training & Average training costs per employee.
- Training results - % of employees attended training vs. their competence after training.
- E-learning training - E-learning courses utilized vs. % of pass rate.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Education Level: Master, B.S degree
- Discipline (First Choice) : Business Administration / HR Management
- Discipline (Second Choice) : Six sigma / CMM level certification on Training
Work Experience:
- B.S degree minimum 8 years of related experience including at least 4 years
in management position in large or medium size organization.
- Master degree minimum 6 years of related experience, including at least 3 years in management position in large or medium size organization.
Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of:
- Training & Development
- Strategic planning
- Managing, planning and organizing
- Decision making and problem solving
- Training need analysis, competency mapping
- Budgeting
